Tour: Dolomites and the South Tirol

The architect Le Corbusier said once: The Dolomites are the world’s finest example of natural architecture. Explore with us this UNESCO Natural World Heritage that was born as coral reef 250 million years ago.

Tour description

This region has definitely something mysterious; Its Nature, legends with its mystical places, moved past and history, the people with their language(s) and the characteristic shapes and colors of these Dolomites Mountains. The Celts lived in the Dolomites as from 275 BC. The South Tirol as it is called today, was one of their home until the Roman Empire chased them away to Ireland, the western and northern parts of Great Britain (Wales, Isle of Man, Cornwall and Scotland) and the northern territories of France. A group of Celts did hide in this mysterious, extraordinary and a bit unearthly region. Many Celts traditions, believes and language are still to be found in the today’s Dolomites country. This Ladin language has some similarity with the Romansh spoken today in the canton of Graubünden (Grison) Switzerland.

Mighty colorful rock towers, castles and memories

The challenging route for experienced riders will follow wild valleys, vineyards, crystal blue lakes and rivers. Trenches, blockhouses and old supply routes will remind us of the war between the Italians and the Austrians-Hungarians during the First World War.

Our hotel has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and a spa/wellness where we can relax and recover every late afternoon from our daily motorcycle rides through these incredible passes.

The most spectacular natural wonder happens some evenings at a certain time with sunset. The pale colored dolomite mountain turns from pink to different reds until the sun disappears behind the opposite mountain. No one sits at the table, everybody watches, photographs and observe this amazing scene, something not to miss and to know the legend about Laurin.
