Tour: Day and short tours in selected regions of Switzerland

A Swiss biker told me once: «I don’t need a tour guide in Switzerland, I’ll find my way.»

It is not about finding a way!

It’s not about finding a way to a destination or to go from home to point B and point C. Today a GPS or even a mobile telephone with the right software will do that job for you.
It is about riding a specific itinerary that only experienced and local tour guides can show you! About roads along fine panoramas, with interesting sights, local particularities, a good choice of special restaurants and exquisite accommodations and, with a certain flexibility and personality that you want.

Be inspired by some Twincruiser Tours guided motorcycle holidays and tours

Our stringent planning and organization tailored to your interests includes many little and fine details that do make the big difference:

Which are the safest and less travelled roads, how do we avoid mass-tourism without missing what we wanted to experience, what to expect along our specifically chosen itinerary, what are the or rather your must-see attractions and sights that you would like to see, what time of the day is the most memorable one and which travel direction gives the better panoramic views, where can we eat something that we have never tasted before, where and in what kind of hotels will we be sleeping and will they’re be waiting for us and will we have fun and experience something that we would not have had on our own?

It is a matter of time but still a holiday to enjoy!
You concentrate on your safe riding, while you admire the landscape; We get you there, leave you time to explore on your own and show you the most possible in the shortest time without stressing anybody.
We bet with you that we’ll show you roads and places that you would never have found on your own?

We spend a lot of time on the road, have a local network, collect information’s to find out specific particularities and secrets. We love what we do; we live it with a passion and identify ourselves with it.

Switzerland is small, at least on the map, but if we would flatten it, it would reach a surface over the half of the USA. Nevertheless, most people underestimate it; the north-south length is about 220 kilometers (140 miles) and the west-east length about 350 km (220 mi). But… and that is the sticking point, Switzerland is very high and is therefore also called the country over the clouds!
Therefore, do not expect to see Switzerland within a few days!
Most of my tours last ten days or longer. My experience has shown that shorter tours do not allow participants to acclimatize to the local conditions and the foreign roads. I often speak about the, ”time to digest” that we need to perceive what we have experienced.
Just a few days does not allow you to cool down, to relax and to forget the daily routine at home. After all it should be a holiday!
If you fly-in from overseas and want to go straight ahead and start a tour with a motorcycle, think it over. Is it wise?
Are you physically fit? Consider your jet-lag and the higher risk of accident. I do not support such actions.
Short trips are ideal if you are already in the country and want to have an appetizer to check if my offers suits you for a longer tour with a motorcycle in the future.
For a good vacation in Switzerland, depending on your interests and wishes, I propose a journey between 12 to 18 days.

No planning, no organization, we take care of it for you and also with you!

A job that takes a lot from you, your family and your friends need and want you; therefore, the time to organize your ideal trip might be short.

Contact Kurt; we have hundreds of itineraries that can be explored on a motorcycle within Switzerland. Tell us about your interests, what you want to experience, the number of km or miles per day and trip you feel comfortable with, the type of motorcycle you want us to rent for you and if you’d like to come as a motorcycle rider or as a pillion passenger behind our tour guide and we’ll design, tailor and offer you, your very personal ride.

Break out of the daily routine and spend a long weekend, a few days, a week or more with a local tour guide and see it like an insider.

Proposals

A few proposals to inspire you (from a minimum of 3 to 7 days tours),                            so much more than just riding”

  • Four lakes, three passes and Interlaken: 176km or 109 miles and about 04h26 minutes riding. With the stops and the breaks about 8 hours. This tour is combined with two other day-tours.
The first few miles of the road start flat but curvy. Soon we enter the mountainous region, it climbs until we reach the first pass height. A drink and a sandwich or a good breakfast, you choose! While we are having our pleasant meal, we can seek our road between the hills and the trees that will lead us to our next stop. We want to appreciate our day and not keep our eyes on the speedometer and the tarmac. Up and down, behind each hill, a splendid panorama awaits us. A photo cannot reflect what you’ll be experiencing.
Another pass, another scenery, soon we get to the first lake, another break with a deep breath and on we go to the next stop.
Facing the sunset, we take our motorcycles for about an hour along two differently colored lakes. Why is this?
Your tour guide is with you and will inform you all along the way about various things you’d like to know more about this day tour.
  • Emmental-Tour: 241 km or 150 miles and about 05 hours riding.
Ride though the region Emmental, eat like in the 1850’s and sleep in a former Kurhaus from the Art Nouveau Period. Perhaps you like to know a bit of the dark history of the Anabaptist meeting places, farms and hiding places. The next day, we awaken without any city noise in the middle of nature with birds whistling and ride along “secret” paths further to our next overnight.
This tour is couple with two other day-tours in the central part of Switzerland.
  • Short Jura-Tour:
Our first stop will be in the French part of Switzerland, where you may feel increased natural energy in a so-called place of power. It is also the place where sadly, Switzerland’s last bear was shot. Fortunately, it is today a national park with many wild animals. Next to other must-see attractions, we spend the night in an over 130-year-old hotel which was made famous by a woman who knew 300’000 soldiers in World War I.
  • Long Jura-Tour: Over a few smaller passes in the Jura and into the valley of the luxury watches. Visit the oldest watch factory, see some highlights and sleep in the historic hotel, which was once the refuge of persecuted Anabaptist’s from the Bern region.
  • Source of the Doubs: We ride into neighbouring France to the source of the Doubs. We follow that river from the beginning through breath-taking canyons and valleys with exceptional panoramas. Late afternoon, we get our deserved rest in a restored unique former prison and carry on the day after.
  • Charming lakes and plunging waterfalls: In a slower pace, we drive through deep forests, over great passes and along fascinating deep blue lakes to end the day in a fairy-tale hotel of the Belle Époque in the middle of the woods.
  • Ticino: Our itinerary over ancient passes to the beautiful canton of Ticino as the Swiss-Italians call it, will lead us to an over 500 years old renovated customs-house where we’ll spend the night. The following day, we discover the Maggia valley, where we will stay in another very nice hotel. The third day takes us, along remarkable sights into the Centovalli (the valley with hundred valleys); we follow more stunning, narrow and twisty roads that all connect numerous smaller typical villages and until we reach the southern slope of the Alps.
We stop at Grotto’s; Taste a real coffee or Latte Macchiato and enjoy some specialties: cicitt, polenta, risotto, antipasti, Cazzuola, Brasato al Merlot and sleep in authentic and traditional upper class hotels
